Hi Cuties. It hit me the other day, I have never really introduced myself? So it?s about time after over a year don?t you think!

My full name is Kristin Louise Ohnstad Shovick, and am 27 years old. I was born in the US, in Madison Wisconsin. I have lived the largest part of my life in Ås 30 minutes outside Oslo city.   

I have a degree as a fashion designer and pattern maker from the fashion school ESMOD. After three years with pure creativity I felt like I needed more business focus and decided to study Entrepreneurship and business development at BI school of Management. I wrote my Bachelor degree on Corporate Social Responsibility in the fashion industry. This is a topic I am very passionate about and think is very important.    

During my studies I started working as a receptionist and in the economy department at the consultancy company Bouvet ASA. After the two years I saw an opportunity to work with business development and applied for a position as a consultant there. This is where I work today and I feel truly lucky for being able to work with something I find very interesting.             

For the last seven years I have lived in Oslo city. I am engaged to be married next summer 2013 to Bjørn, the love of my life ♥.He has two boys that live with us 40% of the time so my life is quite family friendly when they are here.   

My relation to fashion..  Fashion is what I do for FUN!

The way I see it get the best part of two world when I do only do the fun stuff. I get to decide who I work with and how: If I want to make something I do so, if I want to have a photo shoot I do that? I get to keep the freedom over my creativity, does that make any sense to anyone else but me? I hope so.

Last but not least:  Why Birdiedream?

One of my former bosses started calling me Birdie and it kind of stuck with me. I have always been a dreamer and since I had the ? I am bird now ? tattoo it was no doubt any more.

Today I am wearing mostly black with a touch of a more springfriendly mint green. I love this color. Today we are going to see my nephew who was born two days ago. So fantastic and perfect a new life is, no scares, no bad memories non of the things that makes us human. Just total faith and optimism towards this life.. Beautiful ♥

Hi Cuties.

I was so happy when I read on nrk.no that crown the Norwegian princess Mette Marit, designer for Pucci, Peter Dundas, blogger model and general superstar Hanneli Mustaparta all went to support designer Nina Skarra launch of her sustainable collection Pure Fashion in NY yesterday.

Finally Norwegians with big names internationally  are supporting each other! I have said it many times before, but I'll say again: The Norwegian fashion industry needs to stand together and help each other. The hole industry  needs a lift and needs to be more professional and business minded.

Nina Skarra is strong woman with "big balls", huge ambitions and a great vision (Sustainable fashion!). She is one of the greatest business woman in Norwegian fashion and I can't wait to see what she will accomplish in the future.
